Research Study

Seeking volunteers to be part of a research study offering two new literacy and math programs to children with autism - even those with little or no spoken language.

To participate, familes must:

  • have a child between the ages of 4 and 17, with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, with little or no functional language
  • be English-speaking
  • live anywhere in Manhattan or in the following zip codes of the Bronx: 10463, 10451, 10457, 10458, or 10468
  • have a computer that can be used during the daily sessions

If your child is selected to participate in the study, you will receive:
  • a six to nine month in-home literacy or math program that is provided in clear, detailed manuals
  • support of a tutor who carries out all the lessons in one-hour sessions 5 days a week

This study is being conducted at the Developmental Neuropsychiatry Program, a division of the Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY
